Jose Mourinho wants Wesley Sneijder at Manchester United?

A report claims that Jose Mourinho will try to sign Wesley Sneijder if he ends up being appointed the new manager of Manchester United.

Jose Mourinho has reportedly made Wesley Sneijder his number one transfer target, should he replace Louis van Gaal as the new manager of Manchester United.

The ex-Chelsea boss is currently the favourite with the bookmakers to succeed the supposedly under-pressure Van Gaal, who was believed to have been the subject of a hastily arranged board meeting earlier today.

According to The Sun, if United decide to sack Van Gaal and then turn to Mourinho, the 52-year-old has identified Sneijder as the high-calibre playmaker that the Red Devils are currently lacking.

Mourinho and Sneijder previously worked together at Inter Milan, where they won a Serie A, Coppa Italia and Champions League treble five years ago.

The Netherlands international, 31, is currently contracted to Turkish side Galatasaray until 2018.
