Manchester United midfielder Paul Pogba reportedly sees a proposed move to Real Madrid hanging by a thread due to the Frenchman's mammoth wages.

Real Madrid could reportedly be forced to search for alternatives to Manchester United's Paul Pogba, as the midfielder's mammoth wage demands may prove too much for Los Blancos.

Zinedine Zidane's side have long been credited with an interest in Pogba, who has only chalked up eight appearances for United during an injury-hit 2019-20 campaign.

However, the financial impact of the coronavirus pandemic could lead to teams seeking out cheaper options during the summer window, with Real supposedly having to reassess their transfer strategy in the wake of the outbreak.

Indeed, according to AS, Los Blancos president Florentino Perez is against signing Pogba due to his €17m (£15m) yearly salary, which is more than any player at the Bernabeu currently pockets.

As a result, Zidane's side are said to be prioritising a move for Lille midfielder Eduardo Camavinga, although the COVID-19 outbreak has allegedly hindered Real's pursuit of the 17-year-old as well.

United have the option to trigger a one-year extension in Pogba's current contract which is set to expire next summer, but the Red Devils have not done so as of yet.
