Report: Barcelona want Ander Herrera to replace Cesc Fabregas

A report claims that Barcelona will move for Athletic Bilbao midfielder Ander Herrera if Cesc Fabregas departs the Spanish outfit.

Barcelona will reportedly move for Athletic Bilbao midfielder Ander Herrera if Cesc Fabregas departs the Spanish outfit this summer.

It is understood that the Catalan side will sanction the sale of Fabregas should a £40m offer be received, with Arsenal and Manchester United both believed to be keen.

According to Mundo Deportivo, should Fabregas seek pastures new, Barca will look to sign Herrera, who starred for Bilbao as the Basque outfit finished fourth in La Liga in the 2013-14 campaign.

Herrera has a release clause in the region of £30m, which Manchester United baulked at last summer, but Barcelona are reportedly prepared to part with that sum.

Both players have two years remaining on their respective deals.
