Report: Bastian Schweinsteiger on verge of Manchester United move

Bastian Schweinsteiger withdraws from discussions over a new deal at Bayern Munich and will instead await an offer from Manchester United, according to a report.

Fresh reports have emerged linking Bastian Schweinsteiger with a move to Manchester United this summer.

The 30-year-old, who is reportedly a top target for United boss Louis van Gaal, has one year left to run on his current deal at Bayern Munich.

It has now been claimed by French publication L'Equipe that the German World Cup winner has withdrawn from discussions over a new contract at the Allianz Arena, and will instead await an offer from the Red Devils.

Schweinsteiger, thought to be valued at around £17.8m by the Bundesliga champions, was recently urged by compatriot Franz Beckenbauer to reject any approach from Man United.
