Report: Arturo Vidal will cost Manchester United £45m

A report claims that Manchester United will have to shell out around £45m to sign Juventus midfielder Arturo Vidal.

Manchester United will reportedly have to pay at least £45m if they are to entice Juventus into selling Arturo Vidal.

New United manager Louis van Gaal has already bolstered his midfield options this summer by signing Ander Herrera from Athletic Bilbao, but speculation has suggested that the Dutch coach is eager to add at least one more midfielder.

The likes of Toni Kroos, Kevin Strootman and Nigel de Jong have all been linked with switches to Old Trafford of late, but it is believed that Chilean international Vidal is at the top of Van Gaal's wishlist.

Italian champions Juve would be reluctant to lose such a key member of their squad, but they could be tempted into doing business if an offer of £45m or greater were received, according to ESPN.

The report adds that although content in Turin, Vidal would be open to the prospect of linking up with Van Gaal at United.
