Ole Gunnar Solskjaer 'tells Manchester United to sign Sean Longstaff'

Manchester United boss Ole Gunnar Solskjaer reportedly encourages club officials to press on with their attempts to sign Newcastle United midfielder Sean Longstaff.

Manchester United boss Ole Gunnar Solskjaer has reportedly encouraged Ed Woodward to up the club's interest in Newcastle United midfielder Sean Longstaff.

After completing the signings of Daniel James and Aaron Wan-Bissaka, United are now attempting to add a new central midfielder to their ranks as a result of Ander Herrera's departure and the potential exit of Paul Pogba.

The North-West giants have been linked with Longstaff for a number of weeks, after the Englishman made a positive impression in his debut campaign at St James' Park.

According to the Daily Star, Solskjaer has instructed Woodward to seal a deal for the 21-year-old as he continues to try to sign homegrown players.

Newcastle are said to be demanding in excess of £20m for the 21-year-old, despite him having made just eight starts in the Premier League.
