Manchester United have reportedly started transfer negotiations with the agent of Juventus midfielder Arturo Vidal.
Recent speculation in Italy had suggested that no discussions had taken place regarding the Chilean international.
However, talks were actually held in London on Thursday between United officials and the 27-year-old's representative Fernando Felicevich, who was in the English capital to tie up Alexis Sanchez's move to Arsenal, according to the Daily Mail.
While no agreement has been reached between the two clubs, the report adds that United remain confident of being able to prise Vidal away from the Italian champions.
It is believed that while reluctant to lose the midfielder, Juve may accept a bid in the region of £40m.
