Louis van Gaal has insisted that his World Cup focus with the Netherlands is not being compromised by his appointment as Manchester United manager.
The Dutchman, who has replaced David Moyes at United, will take on his new role at Old Trafford once the World Cup ends in Brazil.
While preparing the national side for their opening clash against reigning champions Spain today, Van Gaal has also been outlining his transfer targets for the Red Devils.
"Distraction? Well, it may be a distraction, but perhaps Manchester United was a good distraction," Van Gaal told reporters.
The tournament kicked off in Sao Paulo last night as hosts Brazil secured a 3-1 victory over Croatia.
