Marseille frustrated by Nantes

Nantes dent Marseille's Europa League ambitions after holding Jose Anigo's side to a 1-1 draw at Stade de la Beaujoire.

Nantes have dented Marseille's Europa League ambitions after Jose Anigo's side were held to a 1-1 draw at Stade de la Beaujoire tonight.

It was the visitors who edged ahead in the contest after Florian Thauvin fired Marseille into a one-goal lead on the half-hour mark.

However, Anigo's troops were pegged back midway through the second half by Serge Gakpe, whose goal proved enough to earn a point for the hosts.

Consequently, Les Phoceens remain sixth in Ligue 1 and miss the chance to move level on points with Lyon, who occupy the final Europa League qualification place.
