Half-Time Report: Rotherham United hanging on at the Riverside

Middlesbrough and Rotherham United go in goalless at half time at the Riverside Stadium.

Rotherham United go in level at the break at the Riverside Stadium after resisting a late Middlesbrough onslaught at the Riverside Stadium.

Boro enjoyed plenty of early possession but failed to carve out any clearcut chances, however they could have taken the lead had Daniel Ayala's spectacular effort evaded Damian Martinez.

Rotherham's first chance of the half came when Adam Hammill collected the ball and sent a an effort narrowly wide of goal on 15 minutes.

Aitor Karanka's side continued to dominate, but were only able to test Martinez from range as first Lee Tomlin and then Albert Adomah tried their luck.

However, Middlesbrough were growing into the game and could have been ahead when Ayala's header was hacked off the line by Paul Green.

A flowing move involving Patrick Bamford, Kike, and Adomah resulted in another scrambled clearance off the Rotherham goal line, but Steve Evans' side weathered the storm and held on for half time.
