Jonanthan Woodgate says that he wants to take his coaching badges once his career is over and hopes to become a manager one day.

Middlesbrough centre-back Jonathan Woodgate has revealed that he wants remain in the game after his career is over.

The 33-year-old said that he wants to take his coaching badges with his boyhood club under the head of youth development, Dave Parnaby.

"Football is the only thing I know," Woodgate told Boro's official website. "One day I would like to be a coach or a manager. I want to be a manager and to get inside players' minds.

"Every manager I have played for has left an impression, good and bad. I have learned from every one of them, but you go in as your own person and do it your own way.

"This is the perfect place to do a coaching badge, with Dave Parnaby and his academy."

Woodgate, whose previous clubs include Leeds United, Newcastle United, Real Madrid and Tottenham Hotspur, has eight caps for England.
