Montpellier HSC have scored a late first-half goal to pull level 1-1 with Evian TG at half time in their Ligue 1 clash this evening.
Tulio de Melo went close for Evian early on when he sent a header towards the top corner, but it was kept out by a firm stop from the goalkeeper.
De Melo came close again minutes later, this time as he got onto the end of a cross from Modou Sougou, only to see his header fly straight at the Montpellier keeper.
The visitors dominated the opening half of the game, as Cedric Barbosa sent a left-footed shot from outside the box towards goal, which narrowly missed the top corner.
Evian finally got the goal their first-half play deserved when Kevin Berigaud was found by Barbosa with a neat ball, leaving the striker to finish from a few yards out.
Siaka Tiene almost pulled Montpellier level just before the break, but his free kick edged just over the crossbar with the goalkeeper scrambling.
His miss didn't matter, though, as Anthony Mounier picked out Remy Cabella, who fired home to bring things level in the 44th minute.
