Ross McCormack and Gboly Ariyibi have arrived at Fir Park.

Motherwell manager Stephen Robinson would still like more January signings after getting his top two targets but he will have to move people on before delving back into the transfer market.

The Steelmen signed forward Ross McCormack and winger Gboly Ariyibi on loan after Ryan Bowman and Andy Rose moved on, while wide player Jake Hastie has returned from a loan spell at Alloa.

Robinson said on a club video interview: "Delighted I got the two targets I went for. Clubs like us don't often get the quality of Ross McCormack and it shows the boy wants to come and play.

"We want to bring him back in and get his confidence back because his talent is unquestionable. We want to give him a platform to help us and help him.

"I'd still like more, of course, in an ideal world, but we still need to move people out and maybe see what happens towards the end of the window."

Aston Villa forward McCormack returned to Fir Park with a knee injury he picked up during a loan stint in Australia, but is steadily improving on the club's Tenerife camp.

"Ross has started joining in with training," said Robinson, whose name has appeared on bookmakers' lists for the vacant Luton job.

"That was his first full day and he looked good. Fitness wise we still need to get there with him but there's no denying the quality he has got and what he'll bring to the squad.

"Gboly is different to what we have, direct, gets at people, and it allows us to play a back four, a 4-3-3 maybe with Elliott (Frear) on the other side.

"And young Jake Hastie has been a revelation in training, the loan to Alloa has been fantastic for him."
