Sneijder: We lacked sharpness

Dutch forward Wesley Sneijder believes that his side weren't clinical enough in front of goal during Saturday's shock 1-0 defeat to Denmark at Euro 2012.

Netherlands forward Wesley Sneijder was left to rue his side's lack of finishing in front of goal following their shock 1-0 defeat to Denmark in Saturday's Euro 2012 Group B opener in Kharkiv.

Despite 28 shots on the Danish goal, the Oranje were unable to find the back of the net.

Instead, Michael Krohn-Dehli's 24th-minute strike was enough to earn Morten Olsen's team the surprise victory.

"We were missing the final bit of sharpness," Sneijder told AD Sportwereld.

"The strikers are keen to score and I play in behind them and give them the ball, but they must score."

The Dutch will hope to get their first points of the tournament on the board when they take on Germany on Wednesday.
