Alan Pardew unperturbed by daunting December fixtures

Alan Pardew admits that Newcastle United have their work cut out for them in December, but remains upbeat that they can continue taking scalps against the big boys.

Alan Pardew has admitted that high-flying Newcastle United have a tough series of fixtures in December, but believes that his troops can emerge unscathed from them.

The Magpies beat Queens Park Rangers 1-0 on Saturday for what was their sixth straight victory in all competitions - a run of form that includes wins over Liverpool and Manchester City.

Pardew's side face further tests against Arsenal, Chelsea and Manchester United next month, but the 53-year-old can see no reason why they cannot maintain their stellar form.

"What we have got is a real depth in the squad, which bodes well for the League Cup and bodes well for the Premier League," he told the Daily Mail.

"It is a tough December, there's no doubt about that, but the team is in such a good place right now."

Newcastle, who sit fifth in the Premier League table and have not conceded a goal in six hours, travel to West Ham United at the weekend.
