Newcastle United's Alan Pardew: "My job isn't safe"

Newcastle United manager Alan Pardew admits that his job isn't safe, after seeing his side fall to a fourth successive league defeat.

Newcastle United manager Alan Pardew has admitted that his job isn't safe.

The Magpies fell to a fourth straight defeat after being beaten 1-0 by Stoke City on Saturday afternoon, with Pardew admitting that he is under intense pressure from the media.

"I don't feel safe," The Mirror quotes him as saying. "I never feel safe as a Premier League manager. We live five to six Premier League games at a time, in terms of the pressure building from the media.

"I actually don't think the media in the north-east helped us this week. I think they whipped it up, for whatever reason. I know one or two of them are banned from the stadium and they probably used that as a bit of an agenda, which is a shame for us because we want them to support us."

Newcastle are currently ninth in the Premier League table.
