Newcastle United's Alan Pardew admits Yohan Cabaye exit concerns

Newcastle United manager Alan Pardew admits that he will be "nervous" over the immediate future of Yohan Cabaye until the January window closes.

Newcastle United manager Alan Pardew has admitted that midfielder Yohan Cabaye could leave this month.

Arsenal made an approach for the France international last summer, but refused to pay the £20m transfer fee that the Magpies demanded.

There have been reports that the Gunners could return with another offer, while Paris Saint-Germain are also said to be interested in the 28-year-old.

"Like all Premier League clubs, everyone is for sale at some price," the Daily Mail quotes Pardew as saying.

"We're conscious that we have a good team and want to keep it together because we are not that far behind the guys that have been so dominant in the top seven this season.

"I'm nervous in all transfer windows as manager of Newcastle and I'll be nervous until it shuts. But we have a good financial position at the football club and I'm sure the owner will be pleased that we've got 36 points at this stage of the season."

Cabaye joined Newcastle from Lille in 2011.
