Newport County beat in-form Hartlepool United

Newport County climb to fourth in the League Two table after beating Hartlepool United 2-0 at Rodney Parade.

Newport County have climbed to fourth in the League Two table after beating Hartlepool United at Rodney Parade.

Hartlepool went into Friday night's clash having won seven of their last nine matches in all competitions, but Pools were casually brushed aside in South Wales.

A goal in each half from Harry Worley and Conor Washington gave Newport their seventh win in 16 league games, moving Justin Edinburgh's to within two points of the division's summit.

The result leaves Hartlepool 13th, 10 points clear of the relegation zone.
