Norwich City defending disappoints Alex Neil

Norwich City manager Alex Neil believes that his side's defending cost them the game after they lost 1-0 to West Bromwich Albion.

Norwich City manager was left to rue his side's defending in their 1-0 defeat to West Bromwich Albion at Carrow Road.

A goal from Salomon Rondon in the first half gave the away side the three points and the Canaries boss has criticised the way his team defended crosses going into their area.

The 34-year-old is quoted by Sky Sports News as saying: "It is very disappointing, obviously the fact that we wanted to win today, we have come off the back of a poor defeat last week as well.

"It is difficult to take because I think that we played well at times, had more opportunities and more of the ball but in the vital bits, in the box where you have got to defend and put your head in where it hurts, it cost us.

"I do not think it is a lack of concentration, I think it is a lack of stopping the cross into the box first and foremost and then not defending our box well enough."

The result leaves Norwich in 16th in the Premier League table, three points above the relegation zone.
