Chris Hughton: 'I'm always thinking about football'

Chris Hughton admits that it is difficult to relax even in time off as a football manager.

Norwich City manager Chris Hughton has admitted that he can never take his mind off football, even when he is spending time with his family at home.

Hughton said that the job requires him to always question his decisions in order to see where he can improve, which he says makes trying to relax very difficult.

"When you are not here working, you are spending an equal amount of time thinking about the game, about decisions, about how you can do things better," he told Sky Sports News.

"It is the challenges of the games, sometimes you do wish you could switch off for a little while but it is very difficult. You listen to everything around you and that is normal. When you have won at the weekend you will pick up the Sunday and the Monday papers, when you haven't, you will give them a wide berth.

"But there are these challenges and you have to be big enough to accept them, take the knocks on the chin and always look to improve."

Hughton's Norwich are battling to stay in the Premier League and currently sit 15th on 32 points.
