Greg Halford goal gives Nottingham Forest win

An early goal from Greg Halford gives Nottingham Forest a 1-0 win over Millwall in the Championship this afternoon.

An early goal from Greg Halford was enough to give Nottingham Forest all three points against Millwall in the Championship this afternoon.

The visitors forced a corner inside the opening 10 minutes that Andy Reid delivered for Halford to head in, putting Forest in front early on.

Radoslaw Majewski almost doubled Forest's advantage three minutes later, but Millwall goalkeeper David Forde was on hand to make the save.

James Henry had several chances to equalise for the hosts towards the end of the opening half, but Karl Darlow was able to keep his efforts out.

Forest made a strong start to the second half, but it was Darlow who was called into action when Henry took another shot, trying to curl in a free kick for the hosts.

Forde was kept busy towards the end of the game as Marcus Tudgay, Lewis McGugan and Simon Cox all looked to seal the win for the visitors.

Henry had one last effort deep in stoppage time, but Danny Collins blocked the shot and made the clearance to ensure a win for the visitors.
