Half-Time Report: Osasuna lead Espanyol

Alvaro Cejudo fires Osasuna into a slender 1-0 half-time lead over Espanyol in Pamplona this evening.

Osasuna have recorded a slender 1-0 half-time lead over Espanyol at the El Sadar Stadium in the Primera Division.

The Catalan side started much the better of the two teams in Pamplona and could have gone ahead inside six minutes, only for the club's leading goalscorer Sergio Garcia to fire wide of the mark from a good position.

Javier Aguirre's men went even closer on 24 minutes, but Andres Fernandez tipped David Lopez's goal-bound effort past the post.

The visitors were ultimately punished for their profligacy through Alvaro Cejudo, who curled beyond goalkeeper Kiko Casilla and watched his effort nestle in the bottom corner of the net to secure a half-time lead.
