Kevin Davies not hanging up boots

Experienced forward Kevin Davies wants to continue playing football despite his release from Preston North End this summer.

Kevin Davies has insisted that he still has 'one more season left' amid talk that he would be announcing his retirement from professional football this summer.

The 38-year-old is currently available on a free transfer after being released by Preston North End, who he represented for two seasons.

Davies has revealed that he has had "a few offers", but will remain patient before making a final decision.

"All summer I had been told I was getting a new contract and then I didn't, but that's football. I am still interested in playing; I think I still have one season in me," Davies told Sky Sports News.

"I have had a few offers but nothing quite right for me and the family so we are waiting to see what offers come in. I have had a few calls about going abroad but hopefully we will get somewhere in the North-West. We are open to offers as a family but we will see what happens.

"It's not football then I'll call it a day but I really want to play at the minute, if not I will go into coaching or management and maybe some media work."

Davies has played for Chesterfield, Southampton, Blackburn Rovers, Millwall and Bolton Wanderers during a well-travelled career.
