Julian Draxler calls manager Unai Emery "insensitive" for bringing him on six minutes later than planned during Paris Saint-Germain's meeting with Real Madrid.

Paris Saint-Germain midfielder Julian Draxler has hit out at manager Unai Emery for delaying his introduction in Tuesday night's Champions League meeting with Real Madrid.

The 24-year-old was due to come on 20 minutes from time at the Parc des Princes, only for Edinson Cavani to cancel out Cristiano Ronaldo's opener in the second leg.

With PSG level on the night, Emery waited a further six minutes or so before finally bringing on Draxler, who ultimately failed to make too much of an impact as Casemiro snatched a second for Madrid soon after.

Speaking to reporters after the 5-2 aggregate defeat for the Ligue 1 giants, the Germany international admitted to being "surprised and angry" at his manager's decision.

"It was insensitive. The goal for 1-1 went in but it did not change anything for us," he said. "I felt we needed to keep pressing and playing offensively. I didn't know what was going on. I was surprised and angry.

"We lost a man, and even though we got it to 1-1 the whole stadium knew the game would not turn around because we didn't have the intensity on the pitch. Real Madrid played it out confidently and were not nervous at all."

Draxler, a rumoured £40m January target for Arsenal, has started 17 games in Ligue 1 and the Champions League combined this term.
