Nasser Al-Khelaifi honoured to have worked with David Beckham

Nasser Al-Khelaifi is pleased to have worked with David Beckham.

Paris Saint-Germain president Nasser Al-Khelaifi has said that it was an "honour" to have worked with David Beckham for the player's final season in professional football.

Al-Khelaifi said that he hopes the final home game of the season can be a celebration of the Englishman's achievements in the game.

"I am very sad," Al-Khelaifi told Ligue1.com. "I would have loved to see him play one more year in the colours of Paris Saint-Germain.

"It was an immense honour convincing him to join Paris Saint-Germain last January, watching him bring his exceptional talent to the team and, now, to know that the last jersey he will wear will be ours. We are discussing the possibilities to keep working together at Paris Saint-Germain.

"Saturday, for his last game at the Parc des Princes, we count on all of you [fans] to show your joy for having seen him in Paris in the PSG colours as well as to celebrate the entire team for its fantastic victory in French Ligue 1."

A former England captain, Beckham was capped 115 times for his country.
