Queens Park Rangers given permission to build new training ground

Queens Park Rangers are granted permission to start work on a new state-of-the-art training ground in Warren Farm.

Queens Park Rangers have been granted permission by Ealing Council to start work on a new state-of-the-art training ground in Warren Farm.

The Premier League club's current facilities are based nine miles away in Harlington.

With work starting in the coming weeks, the team hope to have the new complex built by the start of the 2015-16 season.

"This is a landmark day for Queens Park Rangers Football Club," CEO Philip Beard told QPR's official website.

"We are hugely grateful for the support shown by all parties, especially the local residents, who we hope will benefit extensively from the range of facilities and activities that will become available over the course of the coming years.

"There is a lot of hard work ahead of us as we finalise the design details and tendering of the project, but today's news is a massive step forward and a significant milestone for the club."

QPR, who could be relegated from the Premier League this season, travel to fellow strugglers Reading on Sunday.
