Millwall snatch last-gasp equaliser at Loftus Road

Scott Malone finds the net in stoppage time to rescue a point for Millwall against Queens Park Rangers.

Millwall scored a dramatic stoppage-time equaliser to come away from their Championship visit to Queens Park Rangers with a 1-1 draw.

The Lions were quicker off the starting blocks and created plenty of chances in opening stages, coming closest in the 19th minute when Stefan Maierhofer's header was saved by Robert Green.

Maierhofer was again denied by Green in the 22nd minute, while Ravel Morrison and Charlie Austin both had goal-bound efforts blocked at the other end.

Chances came at both ends of the park as the first half ticked on. David Ford did well to deny Austin in the 32nd minute, and Green had to be at his best to keep out Steve Morison moments later.

QPR started the second period brightly, testing Ford on several occasions, the Lions shot-stopper making short work of efforts from Tom Carroll and later Morrison.

Harry Redknapp's side continued to pile on the pressure and were rewarded for their perseverance in the 78th minute, winning a penalty after Simeon Jackson was adjudged to have handballed in the area.

Austin, who had been denied by Ford on several occasions throughout the game, beat the Millwall keeper from 12 yards to fire his side in front, but there was late drama to come.

The hosts looked odds-on to win the game as the clock reached the 90-minute mark, but Scott Malone pounced in the area in stoppage time to rescue a point for Millwall.
