Nigel Adkins: 'Fulham set correct example for Reading'

Nigel Adkins claims that Reading should follow the example set by Fulham as they look to make a quick return to the Premier League.

Reading manager Nigel Adkins has admitted that the club should look to follow the example set by Fulham in the Premier League.

The Royals were relegated from the top tier last weekend and must now rebuild as they look to make a quick return to the elite league.

Adkins believes that they should look at Fulham, who play Reading on Saturday, as an example of how to become an established Premier League club.

"We're not an established Premier League club. We've been in the division and the challenge now is to get back there and have a period of sustainability," Adkins told reporters.

"From that the target would then be to become an established Premier League club. Fulham have managed that and I'd put West Brom and Stoke in the same bracket.

"There might be a situation where you yo-yo a bit between the divisions, that's just being realistic."

Fulham have been in the Premier League for 11 seasons.
