Report: Reading to swoop for Netherlands international Rafael van der Vaart

Championship side Reading are exploring a move for former Real Madrid and Tottenham Hotspur star Rafael van der Vaart, according to reports.

Reading have expressed an interest in signing former Real Madrid and Tottenham Hotspur midfielder Rafael van der Vaart, according to reports.

The 33-year-old, who has 109 caps for the Netherlands, is available this summer having been told he has no future with his current club Real Betis.

According to getreading, informal discussions have taken place between the Championship club, who are managed by fellow Dutchman Jaap Stam, and Van der Vaart.

The duo played together for the Dutch national team, both being part of the side that were knocked out by hosts Portugal in the Euro 2004 semi-final.
