Tiago Ilori heading back to Portugal

Reading defender Tiago Ilori is having a medical at former club Sporting Lisbon ahead of a permanent switch, Press Association Sport understands.

The 25-year-old joined the Royals two years ago from Liverpool, where he struggled to make an impact after arriving from the Lisbon club in a £7million deal in 2013.

But Ilori, who has made 22 appearances for Sky Bet Championship side Reading this season, is set to complete a permanent return to Sporting and is undergoing a medical ahead of signing a long-term deal.
