Carlo Ancelotti: 'Atletico Madrid will beat AC Milan'

Real Madrid boss Carlo Ancelotti tips Atletico Madrid to beat AC Milan in the Champions League.

Real Madrid boss Carlo Ancelotti has backed local rivals Atletico Madrid to emerge victorious in their Champions League tie with AC Milan.

Los Rojiblancos lead 1-0 from the first leg, and Ancelotti is tipping Diego Simeone's men to qualify for the quarter-finals.

"Good luck to (AC Milan coach) Clarence Seedorf, but the favourite for the match between Atletico and Milan is Atletico," Ancelotti is quoted as saying by La Gazzetta dello Sport.

"Atletico are favourites because of their football, the atmosphere at the Vicente Calderon and because of the advantage they gained at San Siro. Simeone will progress. He's very intense."

Atleti host Milan in the second leg on March 11.
