How Real Madrid could line up against Levante

Sports Mole looks at how Real Madrid could line up in Saturday's La Liga clash with Levante.

Real Madrid will be looking to return to winning ways in La Liga when they host Levante on Saturday afternoon.

Los Blancos started the 2019-20 campaign with an impressive 3-1 win at Celta Vigo, before drawing 1-1 at home to Real Valladolid on August 24. Last time out, Gareth Bale scored twice in what proved to be a 2-2 draw at the home of Villarreal.

A total of five points has left Madrid in fifth spot in the table - four points off leaders Atletico Madrid, who have made a perfect start to the season.

Levante won 2-1 at the Bernabeu in the corresponding game last term, although Madrid recorded a 2-1 victory when the pair last locked horns in Valencia back in February.

Here, Sports Mole looks at how the home side could line up at the Bernabeu.

POSS RM XI vs. LEV

Out: Marco Asensio (knee), Isco (hamstring), Gareth Bale (suspended)
Doubtful: Eden Hazard (thigh), Brahim Diaz (hamstring), Rodrygo Goes (hamstring), James Rodriguez (calf), Luka Jovic (ankle)

Madrid will be without the services of Bale on Saturday, with the Wales international picking up a red card in the latter stages of the draw at Villarreal before the international break.

Marco Asensio remains a long-term absentee following knee surgery, meanwhile, and the match will come too soon for Isco, who continues to battle a hamstring problem.

Madrid's squad is looking a lot healthier at the moment, however, with Eden Hazard set to make his competitive debut this weekend after returning to full training following a thigh problem.

James Rodriguez is also expected to be available following a calf complaint, while Brahim Diaz and Rodrygo Goes are in the latter stages of their recoveries from hamstring issues.

Big-money summer arrival Luka Jovic also trained on Wednesday despite picking up an ankle problem while representing Serbia during the international break.

Luka Modric should return to the middle of the park after starting on the bench against Villarreal, while Marcelo could replace Ferland Mendy at left-back for the capital giants.
