Javi Guerra scored a second-half hat-trick to lift Real Valladolid out of the La Liga bottom three this evening, beating 10-man Celta Vigo 3-0.
The hosts came close to breaking the deadlock after 20 minutes when Guerra beat Yoel to a corner, but his header was cleared off the line by Borja Oubina.
Guerra thought that he had gone one better when he found the back of the net following a corner just three minutes later, but this time he was denied by the linesman's flag.
Celta's first chance of the game came on the half-hour mark when Charles found Nolito inside the area, but the Spanish winger's shot was straight at Diego Marino.
Marino was called into action again shortly afterwards when he produced a fine save to deny Charles's looping header that looked destined for the top corner.
Charles's evening took a turn for the worse 10 minutes after the restart when he was shown a second yellow card for standing in front of the goalkeeper while he was trying to take his kick.
Valladolid took full advantage of their numerical superiority, breaking the deadlock on the hour mark as Guerra got his first of the night with a low effort into the bottom corner from inside the box.
Guerra doubled his personal tally and his side's lead seven minutes later when he got on the end of a deep cross to loop a header past Yoel and into the back of the net.
His 26-minute hat-trick was complete four minutes from time when he converted from close range to secure all three points for Valladolid.
The hosts did have a chance to extend their lead even further in stoppage time, but Oscar planted his header wide of the post after being found by Patrick Ebert.
