Finding a replacement for Giovanni Trapattoni as the Republic of Ireland manager will take time, the FAI's high performance director Ruud Dokter has said.
Veteran Italian coach Trapattoni was relieved of his duties last month and there has been no rush to appoint a successor since.
"There has been a lot of interest and yes, we have talked to some people, and that's actually all I want to say about it because it's an ongoing process," RTE quotes Dokter as saying.
Asked if that process could take some time, Dokter replied: "Yes."
Under-21 coach Noel King will take charge of the upcoming World Cup qualifiers against Germany and Kazakhstan.
