Roma secure a comfortable 4-2 win over Parma in Serie A.

Roma eased to a 4-2 win over Parma in Serie A this evening, leaving them eight points behind league leaders Juventus.

Afriyie Acquah and Ezequiel Schelotto both had early chances for the visitors, while Maicon tested Antonio Mirante with a powerful strike.

Roma broke the deadlock just 12 minutes into the match as Gervinho tapped in from close range after Mattia Destro's effort bounced back off the post.

Parma were back on level terms just three minutes later, when Acquah drilled the ball in low from a Massimo Gobbi delivery into the box.

However, it took the home side less than a minute to regain the lead, with Francesco Totti slotting the ball into the roof of the net.

Amauri came close to adding a second for Parma, but his long-range effort was saved before Alessandro Lucarelli blasted the ball over.

Roma extended their lead early in the second half when Miralem Pjanic slipped past several Parma defenders before firing the ball into the bottom left corner.

The visitors had a number of half-chances as they looked to get back into the match, but Roma were able to put the win beyond doubt inside the final 10 minutes when Rodrigo Taddei headed in from an Alessandro Florenzi corner.

However, Parma continued to press late on, and were able to clinch a consolation goal in stoppage time when Jonathan Biabiany picked out the top corner with a long-range strike.
