Klaas-Jan Huntelaar given six-match ban for two-footed tackle

Schalke are not happy with a six-match ban for striker Klaas-Jan Huntelaar, after his straight red card on Saturday.

Schalke 04 striker Klass-Jan Huntelaar has been hit with a six-match ban, after he received a straight red card during their 1-0 win over Hannover on Saturday.

The Dutchman made a two-footed tackle from behind on Manuel Schmiedebach in the closing stages of the match, but his club are not happy with the league's decision to ban him for so long.

They said on Twitter: "A six-game ban for Klaas-Jan Huntelaar. Schalke does not accept the sanction."

Huntelaar has scored seven goals so far this season.
