Sevilla sporting director Monchi has revealed his disappointment at his team's failure to overcome Barcelona in the European Super Cup on Tuesday.
Unai Emery's team recovered from 4-1 behind to take the match into extra time, but Pedro won it for Barcelona in the 115th minute.
Monchi has said that he is 'happy with the effort' that the players produced, but has admitted his disappointment at the result.
"I appreciate the sacrifice the team has made and they didn't give up, with the sorrow for not having obtained the ultimate prize," AS quotes Monchi as saying.
"I don't feel a moral victory. There are positive things. The team has shown a lot of character and I'm happy with that effort, but not for failing to win the trophy."
Sevilla have lost in the European Super Cup in each of the last two seasons.
