Shakhtar Donetsk and Borussia Dortmund go in level 1-1 at the break in the first leg of their Champions League last-16 tie at the Donbass Arena.

Shakhtar Donetsk and Borussia Dortmund have gone in level 1-1 at the break in the first leg of their Champions League last-16 tie at the Donbass Arena.

Darijo Srna fired the home team into the lead with his free kick, but Robert Lewandowski snatched an equaliser for the visitors with five minutes left to play.

The German side started strongly and they came close to going in front with 16 minutes on the clock as Mats Hummels's header crashed back off the crossbar following a corner.

Shakhtar grew in confidence midway through the half and they took the lead on 30 minutes when Darijo Srna whipped his free kick past Roman Weidenfeller.

However, Dortmund got themselves level five minutes before the half-time whistle through Robert Lewandowski's close-range strike.
