Steven Davis eyes one more Southampton win

Southampton midfielder Steven Davis is hopeful of ending the season with another victory to set a new club-record points tally in the Premier League.

Southampton midfielder Steven Davis has set his sights on picking up one more victory in his side's final game of the season next weekend.

The Saints equalled their highest-ever Premier League points tally with a 2-1 victory over Tottenham Hotspur this afternoon, with Davis scoring both goals as his side came from behind to win at White Hart Lane.

Ronald Koeman's side host Crystal Palace in their final game of the campaign next Sunday, and Davis is hoping that they can fulfil their pre-season target of improving on last term's 60-point tally.

"I don't score many so that was a great day. They have great quality, Spurs," he told Sky Sports News.

"The aim at the start of the season was to do better than last year, and we have matched last season's points tally. Who knows where one more win will take us."

Southampton's win saw them leapfrog West Ham United into sixth place in the table - a position that would be good enough to qualify for the Europa League.
