Team News: Ryan Mason replaces Mousa Dembele for Tottenham Hotspur

Ryan Mason takes Mousa Dembele's place in the Tottenham Hotspur starting lineup for their encounter with Southampton.

Ryan Mason has been included in the Tottenham Hotspur side for this afternoon's home Premier League encounter against Southampton.

The midfielder has not started a league game since the middle of September, but he has been called upon to replace the suspended Mousa Dembele.

That is the only change that head coach Mauricio Pochettino has opted to make from the 2-2 draw with Chelsea last time out, with Dele Alli still banned.

As for the away side, Ronald Koeman has unsurprisingly kept faith with the same players that started the 4-2 win over Manchester City last Sunday.

It means that the attack is once again spearheaded by Shane Long, with Charlie Austin and Graziano Pelle confined to the bench.

Tottenham Hotspur: Lloris; Walker, Alderweireld, Vertonghen, Rose; Dier, Mason; Lamela, Eriksen, Son; Kane
Subs: Vorm, Davies, Wimmer, Carroll, Chadli, Winks, Clinton

Southampton: Forster; Martina, Fonte, Van Dijk, Bertrand; Wanyama, Clasie, Mane, Davis, Tadic; Long
Subs: Stekelenburg, Cedric, Yoshida, Romeu, Ward-Prowse, Pelle, Austin
