Vicente del Bosque not ruling out Carles Puyol, David Villa

Spain coach Vicente del Bosque claims that Barcelona duo Carles Puyol and David Villa could yet be fit for Euro 2012.

Spain coach Vicente del Bosque has claimed that Carles Puyol and David Villa could yet be fit for Euro 2012.

The Barcelona duo are expected to miss next month's tournament in Poland and the Ukraine with a knee injury and fractured tibia respectively.

However, Del Bosque is refusing to rule out the pair for his final 23-man squad.

"We have until May 27 to hand in the final list for Euro 2012, so until that day we are not ruling out anyone, including Puyol and Villa," he told reporters.

"Puyol is a team leader and there is no hurry. He has a chance to be at the Euros. It's difficult, but we'll know on the 27th if he travels or not.

"Villa is so effective in front of goal and we just have to transmit optimism to him - but also realism. He had a serious injury and is working very hard."

Holders Spain have been draw in Group C with Italy, Republic of Ireland and Croatia.
