Tottenham Hotspur manager Andre Villas-Boas refuses to criticise his players following their 1-1 draw with Panathinaikos.

Tottenham Hotspur manager Andre Villas-Boas remains upbeat despite watching his side concede a late equaliser against Panathinaikos in the Europa League this evening.

Giorgos Seitaridis snatched a point for the Greek side 13 minutes from time after Michael Dawson had given Spurs the lead, but Villas-Boas refused to criticise his players afterwards.

"I don't think we were complacent," he told Sky Sports News. "We have to give credit to Panathinaikos, they pressed much more and started to gain belief from that and that led to the goal.

"I think the whole team felt a bit disappointed because the first half was so positive and we were in control of situation.

"We were a bit sloppy in the second half. I understand the disappointment at not putting the game to bed, but in the end we congratulated the players because if it had been other way round, the whole perspective would have been different."

The 1-1 draw sees Spurs remain third in Group J with two points from two games played.
