Danny Rose ruled out for Tottenham Hotspur, Hugo Lloris back in contention

Tottenham Hotspur will be without defender Danny Rose for Saturday's meeting with Stoke City, manager Mauricio Pochettino confirms.

Tottenham Hotspur manager Mauricio Pochettino has revealed that he will be without full-back Danny Rose for this weekend's trip to take on Stoke City.

The 26-year-old picked up a hamstring injury in England's 1-0 win over Slovakia last weekend, but carried on until the end to set up his side's late winner.

Rose will now sit out the Lilywhites' fourth league game of the season, although there is some good news for Pochettino as he confirmed that Hugo Lloris is now back in contention following his month-long layoff.

"Danny Rose is out. He's very disappointed after the game against Slovakia - sometimes this happens. Hopefully it's not too bad," he told reporters.

"Mousa Dembele is serving the last game of his suspension - it will be good to have him available again. Hugo Lloris is ready and available to play. He's in a good condition to travel."

Spurs have taken five points from their first three league games of the season, leaving them seventh in the early league standings.
