Harry Kane to undergo scan on Monday to assess damage of ankle injury

Tottenham Hotspur and England international striker Harry Kane is to undergo a scan on his ankle on Monday after being stretchered off the field against Stoke City.

Harry Kane will learn the extent of the damage caused by the injury sustained in Tottenham Hotspur's 1-0 win over Sunderland when he undergoes a scan on Monday.

The England international scored the only goal of the contest at White Hart Lane this afternoon, before making way on a stretcher after twisting his ankle while tackling Papy Djilobodji late in the game.

Spurs boss Mauricio Pochettino was not willing to speculate on any predicted timeframe - if any - for Kane's absence when asked after the match, instead only revealing that more will be known in 24 hours' time when the results from his scan return.

Returning midfielder Mousa Dembele and Eric Dier were also withdrawn through injury, but Pochettino explained that they both suffered from minor concerns.

Kane now has two goals in his last two league outings, following a previous goalless run that stretched back six games into last season.
