Mauricio Pochettino "very happy" with Dele Alli's PFA Young Player of the Year win

Tottenham Hotspur boss Mauricio Pochettino says that he is "very happy" for Dele Alli after the midfielder was named PFA Young Player of the Year.

Tottenham Hotspur manager Mauricio Pochettino has praised Dele Alli after the midfielder was named PFA Young Player of the Year on Sunday night.

The 20-year-old, who joined Spurs from MK Dons last year, has scored 10 goals and provided nine assists in the Premier League this season.

"I'm very pleased, very happy for him," Pochettino told the club's official website. "He deserves this trophy and it's great that other players recognise him as the Young Player of the Year.

"It's fantastic to work with him, I want to congratulate him for his achievement and be sure also to congratulate Danny [Rose], Toby [Alderweireld] and Harry [Kane] because they are in the Team of the Year with Dele.

"This is a fantastic achievement for the club but it's important to recognise all the squad because I think from the beginning they've been brilliant with their performance and their behaviour. All can be recognised for us because the season so far has been fantastic."

Spurs are currently second in the Premier League table, eight points behind leaders Leicester City with four games left to play.
