Mauricio Pochettino: "We need to learn and improve"

Tottenham Hotspur head coach Mauricio Pochettino urges his team to "learn and improve" after their heavy loss to Liverpool at White Hart Lane on Sunday afternoon.

Mauricio Pochettino has conceded that his Tottenham Hotspur side must "learn and improve" following their 3-0 defeat at home to Liverpool this afternoon.

The visiting Merseysiders dominated the majority of the contest, with goals from Raheem Sterling, Steven Gerrard and Alberto Moreno securing them all three points.

Speaking after the match, Pochettino admitted that it was a "very tough game" for his side.

"We need to learn and improve - today was a very tough game for us," he told Sky Sports News.

"I think the first 45 minutes we competed very well and had some good chances, but the key moment came in the second half - it was a very soft penalty. When you are 2-0 down against Liverpool it is very difficult."

The loss was the Argentine's first in charge of the North Londoners since taking the helm this summer.
