Tottenham Hotspur midfielder Gylfi Sigurdsson admits it is important that his side win their two remaining matches of the season.

Tottenham Hotspur midfielder Gylfi Sigurdsson has suggested that two victories might be enough to earn the club a Champions League place.

Spurs are one point behind Arsenal and three behind Chelsea in the race for a top-four finish, but Sigurdsson believes that wins against Stoke City and Sunderland could be enough for them to finish above one of their rivals.

The 23-year-old told BBC London: "We've got two very tough games coming up but so do the other two teams.

"We have to make sure we get six points and hopefully that will be enough because Arsenal have two tough games remaining.

"We have a lot to play for and hopefully we will be happy at the end of the season. We have to do our part and hope the other teams slip up."

The Icelandic midfielder scored his team's equaliser as they came from behind to draw 2-2 with Chelsea on Wednesday evening.
