Real Madrid attacker Gareth Bale could re-join Tottenham Hotspur in a deal which would see Christian Eriksen move to the Bernabeu, according to a report.

Real Madrid attacker Gareth Bale could reportedly re-join Tottenham Hotspur in a deal which would see Christian Eriksen move in the opposite direction.

Bale was strongly linked with a move away from Madrid during the summer transfer window but ultimately remained with Zinedine Zidane's side and has been a regular this season.

Eriksen, meanwhile, will see his deal with Spurs expire next summer, and the Denmark international is not expected to stay with Jose Mourinho's side beyond the end of the campaign.

According to AS, Tottenham could offer £26m plus Eriksen for Bale, who was believed to be close to moving to the Chinese Super League in the latter stages of the summer window.

The Wales international scored 55 times in 203 appearances for Spurs between 2007 and 2013 before leaving the English capital to move to Spain.

Eriksen has also been linked with a switch to Manchester United, although the former Ajax playmaker is believed to favour a move to Los Blancos.
