Bayern Munich allegedly feel that the comments of honorary president Uli Hoeness may harm their chances of signing Tottenham Hotspur forward Harry Kane.

Bayern Munich have allegedly been left frustrated by the comments of honorary president Uli Hoeness regarding their pursuit of Tottenham Hotspur forward Harry Kane.

Ahead of entering the final 12 months of his contract, it was felt that Kane would have a wide array of options to depart Spurs during the summer transfer window.

Instead, it appears that Bayern and Paris Saint-Germain are the England captain's only plausible options, the latter said to be a non-starter due to the player not wanting to move to Parc des Princes.

From Bayern's perspective, they have required a replacement for Robert Lewandowski since the start of last season, and it has become apparent that Kane is their preferred option.

The Bundesliga champions are said to have made a minimum of two formal bids for the 29-year-old, both of them being rejected, and it has been suggested that Bayern are ready to go higher.

Reports have claimed that Kane is in favour of a transfer to the Allianz Arena if terms can be agreed and discussions have reportedly been held between the relevant parties.

However, according to the Daily Mail, Bayern feel that comments made by Hoeness will have not helped their cause.

Over the weekend, Hoeness told Sport1: "Harry Kane has clearly signalled in all conversations that his decision stands - and if he keeps to his word, then we'll get him, because then Tottenham will have to buckle."

Bayern's alleged perception is that Spurs chairman Daniel Levy could choose to stand firm over not wanting to sell Kane rather than be receptive to their future proposals.

Head coach Thomas Tuchel was also quizzed on Kane on Saturday, telling reporters: "I have a very boring answer: I do not comment on players who are not with us.

"It's well known that we are looking for a number nine. If we find someone that fits in, then we'll go all in. If we don't find anyone, we're happy with our squad. But we need more patience."

As it stands, it is unclear what fee will be enough to get a deal over the line, but Spurs are reportedly beginning to contemplate alternatives for their all-time leading goalscorer.

Lille's Jonathan David and Juventus' Dusan Vlahovic have both been linked with a move to the Tottenham Hotspur Stadium, the former a more realistic target with PSG seemingly viewing Vlahovic as an alternative to Kane.
