Spurs are keen to recruit an understudy to their talisman Harry Kane this summer and will now prioritise signing a forward, following the arrivals of midfielder Pierre-Emile Hojbjerg and goalkeeper Joe Hart.

Manager Jose Mourinho is hoping to bolster his striking options after watching his side get by without Kane, who missed a chunk of the 2019-20 campaign through injury.

The Daily Mail reports that Wilson is among the names Spurs are considering, although Bournemouth's £30m valuation of the player could prove to be a stumbling block with Mourinho working to a tight budget.

Crystal Palace, Everton and West Ham United are also keen on signing Wilson and could all offer the 28-year-old regular first-team football, which could prove to be a deciding factor for Wilson if he does leave the Cherries this summer.

Wilson, who has been capped four time by England, has scored 41 goals for Bournemouth in the Premier League during a five-year period, including eight strikes in the 2019-20 campaign, which saw the Cherries relegated from the top flight.

Bournemouth, who have already sold defender Nathan Ake to Manchester City for £41m, are reluctant to see another one of their prized assets leave for a cut-price fee, despite Wilson's desire to continue playing in the Premier League.
